Meerak Cat Mannor, a story of plagiarism.

Reading this article I thought it was crazy that something like that could really happen to a person! I mean you hear about plagiarism and what not but you never really stop to think that it could really happen in something as crazy as that!

Plagiarism is a huge problem, People are just so willing to use someone elses work. I think the problem with plagiarism shows up in schools where students have to be told that they will be suspended if not expeled from school from plagiarising someones work! I just think it's crazy what some people will do!

The Story of Sharbat Gula

I thought it was really cool to read the story of how the "Afghan Girl" Was found agian. It's honestly kind of inspiring to me. I mean it's just so cool to think that after 17 years a young girl can be found again in a country as rural as Afghanistan. I also think it's cool how much of an impact her picture has had on people. It's like saying this is what Afghan people are really like, and this is what they're really going through. It's not something that is hyped up by the media but something that is real and something we should all be able to relate to somehow.

"I've Done It All" The real Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis: True Thighs was published in More magazine.

This article talks about Jamie and how she wants the world to see her how she really is. Not the way Hollywood make up artists and technology cause her to look on the screen and red carpet. One thing that really impressed me about the way Jamie has been portrayed in this article is that it makes her seem more down to earth and it lets readers know that she's not perfect and it's okay to not be perfect. I think that in todays society that is a message that gets lost in a lot of instances. The world thinks that to be beautiful you must have the perfect hair, the perfect face, and the perfect body. That's so not true, it's just a front put up to make those so called "perfect people" the icon of everyones world and who people want to be. I think it is so important that people especially young girls learn what it means to be beautiful and that it doesn't mean you have to be perfect it means that you have to be you.

I Come From...

This poem is from Cultural Passport Poetry.

I thought this poem was amazing. It was really well written and I think it invoked great imagery in the way the poet Tina Demirdjian expressed her self. One of my favorite parts was how almost every line started with I this or I that, and if it didn't use one of those lines it described what she had just finished talking about. I found this poem to be a very enjoyable read and that it was full of emotion and reality that is lacking so much in a lot of todays media and such.

Dave Barry's "Snakes need to be put in their place: outside"

I love Dave Barry, I think he is an amazing writer. He has the that blessed skill of humor that so many people wish they possessed. One of the things I enjoy most about his writing is that he is so easy for just about everyone to relate to in one way or another. I think the every day issues he writes about are things that a good majority of the U.S. population will one day possibly have the chance to deal with. In this article he talks about his encounter with a large snake. The story is quite funny, the way he deals with it. But I know as the majority of people read this article they will be able to picture themselves chasing some crazy critter around their house or a park because they are scared of it and want it gone so they don't have to deal with it anymore.

Another thing I enjoyed about Dave Barry's piece was the way he let you into his mind little by little. The small things in quotes that show what he was thinking just make you giggle on the inside and out, that's how good at using humor Dave Barry has come to be. I love Dave Barry because he is funny and relateable I love to read any of his work because he is a fantastic writer.
